Outdoor Art at Laguna Gloria

Outdoor Art at Laguna Gloria

On a recent beautiful afternoon, Janis and I grabbed our cameras and headed to Laguna Gloria. This historic mansion is now an art museum/school and sits on the banks of Lake Austin. There are always interesting installations on the wooded grounds.

My favorite installation looks from a distance like a large fishing net attached to the dock and shimmering in the sun.

When you get close, you see that the "net" is made our of interlocking doll bodies. It symbolizes the interconnectedness of humans and how we affect nature and it affects us.

Janis knew about the artist and the installation on a beach in Perth, Australia. See more at http://www.phaidon.com/agenda/art/articles/2014/february/27/do-ho-suh-takes-to-the-beach-in-perth/

We so enjoyed our playtime.
Thank you, Janis!
